Tips to Fit Exercise into a BuExcuses, we all make them. For some, it happens more than others though, and this can really crush any chances you have of meeting your fitness goals. Are you on the go a lot and need some tips to fit exercise into a busy schedule? If so, check out these 3 practical, and helpful tips below!

3 Tips to Fit exercise into a Busy Schedule

  1. Track Your Steps – Yep, go out and buy a pedometer, and keep track of how many steps you are taking in a day. Studies coming in are claiming that walking walking throughout your day can be better for burning fat than 45 minutes of intense cardiovascular exercise. There are little things you can do to make walking a regular part of your day. If it means giving up the premium parking stall for one at the end of the lot do it! If it means walking to the restaurant down the road for lunch do it! Another simple thing you can do that will help you get some steps in is to take a short, brisk walk after dinner. It will also help you digest your food.
  2. Work Out at Work – Make a point to fit some sort of workouts into your workday. Focus on exercises that will help you build your core, like sitting on a stability ball. Do some push ups, and keep dumbbells under your desk, to get a few muscle building reps in on days when you know you will not have time to do something fun, like basketball, tennis, or another cardio type sport. Use your chair and do some triceps dips. The list goes on. Just because you are at work, does not mean all is lost!
  3. Do Resistance training 3-4 Times Per Week – Even if you can only commit 15-20 minutes to do this, make the time to do it. Now, when I say resistance training it does not necessarily mean pumping iron at the gym. It can be a number of things, from yoga, Pilates, or weight training. These activities do not require any equipment, so that excuse won’t cut it!

There you have it! If you want to fit exercise into a busy schedule it will require YOU to own up and make it happen. Exercising is a matter or priority, so if you want to be fit, if you want better health you need to take the actions that will lead to those things. Sitting around wishing for it to happen will not get it done!

I hope you enjoyed these tips, but remember this. Tips and knowledge are as good as nothing unless you put it to good use! Fitting exercise into a busy schedule is worth it. Not only will it help you achieve your fitness goals, but it will give you more energy, and give you a feeling of better overall health.
