High intensity workouts that will get you in shape.

Do you want to burn calories working out, but don’t want to spend all day at the gym? If so, the solution you’re looking for is high intensity workouts! These do take a lot of energy as bootcamp exercises, but they are high calorie burners that don’t take up that much time. By doing these a few times per week you will increase your stamina and find that you can do more than you thought was possible. Just remember that when you first get started, it might be a bit difficult, but you’ll get stronger as time goes on. If you’re ready to torch some calories and get fit, then take a look at the workouts listed below.

1. Swimming:swimming is a high intensity workout

If you want to burn a lot of calories, then swimming is an option that you might not have considered. Just make sure when you swim that you only take a few seconds in between laps, and that you maximize the time that you have in the water. Remember that you are there to get a workout, not a tan! You can burn hundreds of calories in a 30 minute session, and you will be strengthening all of the muscles in your body and burning fat. If you want to challenge yourself, then get a waterproof stopwatch that allows you to record how long laps take you. Try and beat your record each time you swim, and eventually you’ll see huge improvements.

2. CrossFit:

This is one of the most popular workouts right now, and people of all ages and weights are doing it. Even if you’re out of shape this is a great high intensity workout that is well worth trying out. CrossFit consists of doing a variety of different exercises that build muscles without taking up very much time. Expect to do a lot of exercises with weights when you take this type of class, but you will start off small and work your way up. Most communities have several CrossFit exercise centers, so you should be able to find one easily. Some places will even allow you to take a trial class for free so you can see if it’s something that is right for you.

3. HIIT (high intensity interval training) Workouts:

This form of interval training is extremely effective in raising your stamina and getting you to push yourself. Start with running on the treadmill for 5 minutes at a high speed to get your heart rate up. After this, sprint for a good 30 seconds and then walk fast for 1 minute. Next, do 20 squats followed by 15 overhead presses with weights of your choosing. When you’re done with this, you will immediately go back to sprinting for 30 seconds followed by walking for another minute. Last, you will do 15 triceps extensions with weights of your choice. Once you’re finished with all of these, you can rest for a few minutes and then start the entire workout over again.

It might seem overwhelming to do this type of exercise, but once you get started it’s something that you can easily love. This is a great workout for the entire body and for the legs, in particular.  This is also an ideal workout for weight loss. Just make sure you take this at the end of the day, because you’re going to sweat a lot!

5. Interval Workout at the Office:

At the office and want to get a good workout? It’s actually not that difficult! Simply go to work early so you have the place to yourself and start out by doing 45 seconds of squats, followed by 15 seconds of rest. After that, do 45 seconds of push-ups followed by another 15 seconds of rest. 45 seconds of lunges are next, with the same amount of rest. You can repeat these exercises or add more in there, depending on how much space and time you have! If you don’t work at the office, then you can simply do this in the comfort of your own home, first thing in the morning.  This will burn a lot of calories and give you a complete body workout without you needing to going to the gym.

They are high intensity, so make sure you start off slow and build your way up to something more difficult. In time you’ll get stronger, leaner and will find that you have a lot more stamina!
