Pattelar tendinitis also known as “jumper’s knee” is a very common injury that affects mostly athletes like in sports like basketball, volleyball and runners.

The injury isn’t life threatening and you most likely don’t need a surgery, this could usually get treated at home with items that will cost you less than thirty dollars.

Check with your local gym that you go to if they have it before purchasing it, because free is always better.

Ofcourse as you already know patellar tendinitis can cause very uncomfortable pain to your knee, making it hard to work, play sports or any other activity that involves walking, running or jumping.

Pattelar tendinitis is an injury that affects then tendon connecting to your kneecap also known as the Patella.

What usually happens is that inflammation begins to start in the patella tendon right where it attaches at the patella, this cause the discomfort and the pain. After a few days the tendon will start to pull the kneecap from the side (outside of your side thigh).

Treating this is very easy and there’s no need to go to the doctor, but if it goes untreated for a while to the point where it tears or degenerates the tendon then a surgery or small procedure might be needed.

Pattelar Tendinitis – Knee Pain Treatment

First you need to find a flat surface that you could lay on with the foam roller.

After you find flat location place the foam roller on the floor and lay on it with the leg that your having
knee pains with.

When laying on the foam roller make sure you lay on it with it placed on the outside of your thigh (side).

Controll your balance and start pulling yourself slowly forward and then when the foam roller gets almost by the knee, start pulling yourself back slowly all the way up almost by your hip – kind of like your rolling the dough to make pizza.

This works by stretching out the tendon on the side of your thigh, allowing your kneecap (patella) to go back to it’s normal location.

At this point after a few rolls back and forth the pain should be greatly decrease or probably gone completely.

It’s a good idea to probably purchase one because you will most likely get the same injury if you’re into sports or like to exercise. Performing this exercise with the foam roller will make your knee pain go away, allowing you to be able to play sports and move much freely.
